Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of Dr. Barbara Scavone, the SOAP 2008 meeting host, and myself, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us for the 40th Annual SOAP Meeting in Chicago. We plan to celebrate our anniversary with a professionally-rewarding meeting and
exciting social events. The meeting will be held at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel conveniently located at the gateway to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile of sophisticated shopping and close to many of Chicago’s unique attractions including museums nd restaurants which rank among the best in the country.
A faculty of national and international experts in obstetric anesthesia will highlight recent advances relevant to clinical practice. The program includes lectures, panels, research presentations and the ever-popular Pro-Con debates on controversial issues.
Optional sessions include the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Certification Program and the Multidisciplinary Case Forum for interactive and informative small group discussion of clinical dilemmas in obstetric anesthesia. Please encourage your residents to submit abstracts for presentation at the Residents’ Forum. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet with your colleagues across the country.
The meeting formally begins with the Wine and Cheese Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening which will be held on a high rise terrace overlooking the Chicago River. The social highlight of the meeting is the Celebratory Dinner at the University Club of Chicago – a magnificent setting with a view of Millennium Park and beautiful Lake Michigan.
Most importantly, we extend a warm welcome to all, including the many practitioners with obstetric anesthesia responsibilities in community practice. We seek to enlarge and enrich our society with all who are interested in the care of women and their babies in the peripartum period. We’re looking forward to seeing you in Chicago this spring!
Sincerely,
Linda S. Polley, M.D.
