Mentoring Excellence Award

The Mentoring Excellence Award recognizes exceptional anesthesiologists who have demonstrated unwavering dedication to mentoring the next generation of professionals in obstetric anesthesiology. This prestigious award honors individuals who have made a significant impact by fostering growth, development, and success among their mentees across areas such as research, education, administration, and quality improvement. Their contributions exemplify excellence in mentorship through scholarship, promotion, and leadership. Any member may nominate a candidate, including self-nominations. Nominees must be SOAP members with more than 10 years of practice experience.

The Mentoring Academy Subcommittee evaluates nominees based on the following criteria: evidence of sustained, impactful mentorship for students, residents, and early-career professionals; a demonstrated commitment to creating and advancing mentorship programs within and beyond their institution; and advocacy for a culture of inclusivity and professional growth in the anesthesiology community.
