Purpose

The SOAP Mentoring Academy is a community of individuals passionate about mentoring the growth, learning, and career development of the next generation of those committed to providing obstetric anesthesia care. Participation is open to SOAP members only.

Goals

To enhance the personal and professional development of mentors and mentees, as a benefit to SOAP members, by:

  • Providing guidance, advice, and support 
  • Connecting individuals
  • Creating targeted programs and events 

Focus Areas

  1. Speaker Exchange Program
  2. Short-term Consulting Services (i.e., Mentor/Mentee Matching Program)
  3. Professional Development Lecture Series

2022-2023 Term & Deadlines

  • July 1, 2022 - Applications for Mentor/Mentee pairings open
  • August 15, 2022 - Applications for Mentor/Mentee pairings close
  • October 15, 2022 - Mentors & Mentees will be paired for a 6-month commitment
  • (October 2022 - meet up at ASA if possible)
  • April 15, 2023 - Mentor/Mentee 6-month commitment is completed
  • (May 2023 - meet up at SOAP Annual Meeting if possible)
