Information for Speakers & Abstract Presenters
2022 SOAP Annual Meeting 

Thank you to all who submitted an abstract for SOAP’s 2022 54th Annual Meeting. We received hundreds of high-quality abstracts, and we are looking forward to the dynamic and informative presentations. 


Presentation Time Length & Number of Slides for your Presentation 
There are a variety of sessions during the Annual Meeting. The sessions have different expectations for the number of slides in your presentation as well as the maximum length of time allocated.  CLICK ON THIS LINK to view the # of slides, presentation and Q&A times and other expectations and requirements for each session. 

Important Dates:

  • March 31  Confirm your title in the Speaker Portal 
  • April 13 – Last day for early bird discounted meeting registration fee
  • April 22 – General Session/Main Stage speakers presentations due, they must be reviewed for CME compliance in advance
  • April 28 - Breakout Sessions: Research Sessions #1 & #2, Resident/Fellows Case & Faculty Case presentations due, they must be reviewed for CME compliance in advance
  • May 11-15 – Annual Meeting in Chicago

FOR ALL SPEAKERS WHO SUBMITTED AN ABSTRACT - the below is important information for your presentation:

Abstract Fee
All accepted abstracts are subject to a $40 fee per abstract ($20 fee for those in low or middle-income countries). This fee covers costs associated with presenting abstracts during the meeting as well as being archived on-demand after the meeting. If your abstract has been accepted, please pay the abstract fee online when you register to attend the meeting.

Register to attend the Annual Meeting
All speakers and abstract presenters must register to attend. If you have not already done so, be sure to register for the meeting.

Speakers & Abstract Presenters - Disclosure Form & Tasks
You will receive an email directly from ASA to complete the required CME disclosure form. Please complete your disclosure promptly. If you do not complete the form prior to the meeting, you will be pulled from the program and not allowed to present. Be sure to add this address to your safe sender list so it does not get caught in your spam filter:  [email protected]

All speakers will receive an email from the abstract management platform with instructions on how to access the Speaker Portal. This is where you will confirm your participation at the 2022 Annual Meeting, confirm your contact information and upload your slides (Gertie Marx, Best Paper Competition, Oral Presentation, Best Case Presentation only).  Poster Sessions will upload slides via ePosters website.

PowerPoint Format and Template
All main stage/general session presentations must be PowerPoint and utilize widescreen 16:9 format. Other sizes and formats will be rejected. Animations and slide transitions are discouraged as they may not render correctly. 
All poster sessions in breakout rooms will follow the format outlined in the email you will receive from ePoster LIVE/SciGentech.

Uploading your Presentation

  • If you are presenting in the Gertie Marx, Best Paper Competition, Oral Presentation, Best Case Presentation - you will upload your PowerPoint via the abstract management platform as one of your speaker tasks.
  • If you are presenting in Research Poster Sessions, Resident/Fellows Case Presentations, Faculty Case Presentations - you will upload your presentations to e-Posters live. You will receive an email from e-Posters Live/SciGentech with instructions on how to format and upload your presentation. Click here for details on how to submit your presentation.
